On January 20, 2021 the Formal handover ceremony of ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC) Chairmanship from Vietnam to Brunei Darussalam was held in Bandar Seri Begawan. Co-chairs of Business Advisory Council from other ASEAN Member States, representatives of Joint Business Councils and ASEAN Secretariat attended the ceremony via videoconference.

ASEAN Secretary General Lim Jock Hoi expressed the gratitude to Vietnam for chairing in 2020, its intensive work on restoring supply chains, promoting digital economy and trade facilitation.

Outgoing Chair Dr Doan Duy Khuong (Vietnam) stated in his speech that the whole world last year faced with the unprecedented challenges, but ASEAN has shown its integrity, resilience and stability.

Incoming chair Ms. Yang Berhormat Yanty Rahman (Brunei) noted in her speech that chairmanship of Brunei in 2021 will be focused on recovery, digitalization and stability.
